A journalist is trained to gather, analyse and report on news and current events prevailing in our country and around the world.
They use various sources to investigate and report on stories including interviews with sources, research and observations. Journalists can work in various media platforms such as printing department, television, radio and online portal.

INVESTIGATE JOURNALISM
The unveiling of matters that are concealed either deliberately by someone in a position of power or accidentally behind a chaotic mass of facts and circumstances and the analysis and exposure of all relevant facts to the public.
OPINION JOURNALISM
A story based on a controversial topic after conducting a proper research to support all the arguments with facts and figures and a few choice of quotes. The best part of opinion journalism is that the writers are free to select their own topics.
PHOTO JOURNALISM
A popular form of Journalism using images to tell a story and inform the audience without the read of any explanatory text but there are some basic standards of truth, factual accuracy and objectivity the journalists must adhere to.
SPORTS JOURNALISM
Sports Journalists must possess excellent research, writing and interviewing skills. They must attend sporting events, be it local high-school football games or the Olympics regularly.
FEATURE JOURNALISM
Focuses on human interests, stories with an emphasis on entertaining, educating and engaging the audience. It provides the writers with a creative freedom and opportunity to practise their narrative skills; employing story telling techniques.
