Saudi Arabia Airlines is set to revolutionize its domestic transport with an order for 100 small electric planes from German manufacturer Lilium.
These aircraft, designed for air taxi services within the kingdom, align with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
Each plane, accommodating four to six passengers, provides a premium experience and can land without a traditional runway, boasting a range of up to 200 kilometers on a single charge.
While enhancing transportation convenience, the initiative will require supportive infrastructure, including charging ports and designated passenger areas. Speculations suggest these air taxis may facilitate pilgrim transport in Makkah.
